Because I was so engrossed in this book! Let me explain about the wall, I tried walking and reading at the same time and didn't see the wall waiting for me. As far as snapping, normally I don't mind toooo much if someone stops me when I am reading…but in this case, I growled like a doberman when three people tried to carry on a conversation while my nose was practically pressed against my kindle. But this review isn't about my ADD, temper and depth perception….





Grab your surfboard and hold on for this excellent adventure of Ember! I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed this story. This author takes your hand in the Prologue and whirls you into a world full of mystery, hot burning love (pun intended) and a cute scuffy dog named Oz. Madison Daniel's character building is superb. I could almost smell Hawaii through the descriptive writing. I am so in love with Max Valentine. It was a refreshing change to have a paranormal YA book written from a male point of view. The cover originally caught my eye. It is breathtaking! So feel free to judge a book by its cover.





Get this book…just don't cook, put up a do not disturb sign up and watch out for walls. This is definitely one writer you will want to follow.

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this book! I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with Max from the minute he walked onto the page and I cannot wait to see what's up next for him! What a wonderful first book from a fabulous new author!

Max is truly a heart-breaker, a bad-boy with a suffering soul, the kind of boy every girl dreams of having and fixing and keeping for her own. And Max soon finds himself torn between two girls who want to do just that and so begins a wonderful story of intense relationships, heartbreak, deceit, treachery and overwhelming love.


Asia, the girl with a million secrets who falls hard but denies her love and Samantha, the beautiful girl next door with the dangerous ex-boyfriend both find themselves falling for Max. Max loves them both, but with so many secrets and lies and betrayals, Max finds it hard to choose between them.





I'm so glad I went on this journey with Max, I can't wait to get to the next book to see where the next part of his journey leads!

Oh my! The only thing that would make this book better is if the Madison Daniel sold the book along with the soundtrack that goes with each chapter and you could listen to the music while reading!

Everything in this book will keep you wondering what's going to happen next. Before you know it, it's over, leaving you yearning for the next book.





As with all my other reviews, I don't like to go into much detail as I'm never sure who has read the book already and who hasn't. I will tell you that you will get mad, sad, almost cry, there's laughter, you will feel heartache, and you will want to yell at some people in this book. But most of all you will want more!





Do yourself a favor and read this book. It's a nice easy read and thoroughly captivating.
