The Coins Across routine is a classic of magic that has stood the test of time. Practically every close-up magician has their own favorite methods, sequences, routines, and kicker endings. Some of the reasons it is a classic is that the routine is easy to follow, impossible to reconstruct, it has built in repetition that forces the spectators to pay greater attention and focus on the magic as the routine builds to an ending.

So, the question is which is the best routine? The answer is subjective but in my opinion the use of a shell cleans up a lot of unnecessary handling associated with the sleight of hand, and extra coin methods.

The three best routines I have ever seen were invented by friends of mine: David Roth’s Shell Coins Across, Derek Dingle’s Silver Quick, and Michael Gallo’s Easy Coins Across. If you would have hired them to work at a private party doing strolling magic or even formal shows you were likely to see them perform their routine multiple times. I am sure they are among their favorite creations.

The good news is that by purchasing this video download you will be able to learn all three outstanding routines which are performed and explained by the creators. Or you can take the best parts of their three routines and create your own sequences that fit you best.

David Roth’s Shell Coins Across (Easy/Intermediate):
Four coins are displayed in one hand and one at a time they cleanly vanish from that hand and appear in the other. As a finale they last coin jumps from your hand and appears in the spectator’s. Everything is examinable at the end. Original footage appeared in the New York Coin Magic Seminar Volume One Video.

Derek Dingle’s Silver Quick (Intermediate/Advanced):
Four coins are shown in your hand and one at a time they vanish and appear on the spectator’s open palm as you wave your hand over it, after you convince them that your hand is empty. This is repeated until the finale where the last coin vanishes and appears in their closed fist. Everything is examinable at the end. Original footage appeared in Derek Dingle’s Delights Video.

Michael Gallo’s Easy Coins Across (Easy/Intermediate):
A devious version in the coins across theme that uses just three coins and a shell to allow for a clean and direct looking routine. Original footage appeared in the New York Coin Magic Seminar Volume One Video.
